North West Equity Fund (NWEF) is one of nine English Regional Venture Capital Funds. The Fund was established in 2002 to provide risk capital to North West based companies.

With effect from April 2008, NWEF reached the end of its investment period and is no longer able to make new investments. Instead, the Fund will focus on the support and development of those businesses in its portfolio.

North West Equity Fund is managed by WM Enterprise. WM Enterprise is a trading name of West Midlands Enterprise Limited, authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.

Investors in the fund include The Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform, Local Authority pension funds, the European Investment Fund, Barclays plc and the Royal Bank of Scotland plc.

Since its inception the Fund has invested funds in support of 34 local companies including the following businesses:
